Who is required to submit Intrastat reports?
Businesses that import or export goods within the EU and exceed the applicable national annual reporting threshold are required to report. Services are generally not subject to reporting.
Do I need to include services in the Intrastat report?
No. Intrastat only covers the physical movement of goods between EU member states. Services, license fees, software licenses, and similar intangible items are not subject to reporting. IntrastatAI automatically filters service line items out of your invoices.
What happens if a report is submitted late or not at all?
Late or missing Intrastat reports can lead to requests, warnings, or fines under the applicable national law. Check the requirements of the statistical authority responsible for your reporting country.
Do I need an account for the reporting portal?
Electronic submission generally requires registration with the responsible national statistical authority's portal. IntrastatAI prepares the CSV export for the selected reporting country.
How does submission work?
Reports are submitted through the responsible national statistical authority's portal. After registration, reports can, depending on the reporting country, be entered manually or uploaded as a file. IntrastatAI produces the export in the appropriate format.
What is a CN code and how do I determine it?
The CN code (Combined Nomenclature) is an 8-digit EU-wide goods classification code. It determines how a product is recorded statistically and directly affects mandatory fields such as supplementary units. The CN tables are updated annually. IntrastatAI automatically determines the correct CN code from the goods description on your invoice.
Which file formats and invoice formats are supported?
IntrastatAI processes invoices as PDFs (machine-readable and scanned/OCR) as well as common image formats (JPEG, PNG, TIFF). Structured export formats (XML, EDI) can be integrated via the API interface. Multiple invoices can be uploaded at the same time.
What does IntrastatAI cost?
IntrastatAI is currently in a free beta phase. All features are available without restriction. Information about future pricing models will be announced in due time.
How secure is my invoice data?
Your invoice data is transmitted and stored in encrypted form. Uploaded invoice files are processed only temporarily and then automatically deleted. The extracted reporting data remains available for review and export until you delete the job. Necessary data may be sent to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy for analysis.
